I had gotten sick during the last week of March. Sore throat, slight chills, possible fever, congestion. All the good stuff. But I persevered in my determination not to go to the doctor. I just keep remembering the common prescription of lots of liquids and rest.
Then the following week, the congestion was still there. Still not a reason to go to the doctor.
Then I lost my sense of smell by Friday evening. Now what the heck is going on? Can’t taste what I’m eating, can’t smell if I’m reeking, can’t smell if the milk is bad, can’t smell my own child’s special scent. Just miserable!
You can taste when the food is salty, sweet, or spicy but you just can’t enjoy what you’re eating.
So I search online. Because that’s what many people in the world do to diagnose themselves much to the dismay of physicians out there.
Boy, that didn’t make me feel better. In fact, it made me feel even more depressed.
Think about it. Can you imagine not being able to taste anything you eat which may be spoiled, smell any dangerous gases (besides your SO’s one), smell everyday scents, or smell if you actually do reek?!!! Quality of life is definitely diminished.
I don’t think people realize how valuable their sense of smell is. I sure do.
My sense of smell started to come back when I started to get this POUNDING headache.
I tried to get through it for a couple of days but I could no longer take it.
I went to the doctor. A substitute doctor.
I thought she would’ve taken tests and/or scans of my head but she was in the room for about ten minutes and I was then off to buy Sudafed and Advil. Go figure.
My sense of smell is still not completely back and my headache is just starting to go away (hopefully).
Could it be the damn vog that’s contributing to my head issues? Don’t search online. It probably won’t help.

Probably hapai das why…
Definitely not! No way!
